When God made the earth and sky, The flowers and the trees, He then made all the animals And all the birds and bees. And when His work was finished, Not one was quite the same, He said, "I'll walk this earth of mine And give each one a name." And so He traveled land and sea, And everywhere He went, A little creature followed Him, Until its strength was spent. When all were named upon the earth, And in the sky and sea, The little creature said, "Dear Lord, There is not one left for me." The Father smiled and softly said, "I've left you to the end, I've turned my own name back to front, And call you DOG, my friend." (unknown author)

If tears could build a stairway And memories a lane I’d walk up to Heaven And bring you home again. But since I have to stay behind Until God calls me too Donut be afraid my little girl That he's called for only you. You know it's hard you're not around Because you're in Heaven smiling down Watching me as I pray for you Every day I pray for you. Still at night I lie awake And ponder our bond that broke And wish you were here to dry my tears And rid me of my fears. Once I finally fall asleep With your blanket clenched to me I know that even though you're gone I feel were still a team.
