In Loving Memory of
TIFFANY

September 16, 1992

December 4, 2004

We fed you when you were hungry
We kept water in your dish
We let you sleep on anything
Or any place you wished

We did all we could
To make you stay
  On that cold December day
God took you away

God saw you were getting tired
And a cure was not to be
So he took you from your bed
And said “Tiffy come to me”

One last hug
One last kiss
You have no idea
How much you are missed

Tiffany, thank you for being
Such an amazing dog
For bringing to our family
So much un conditional love

You will never be forgotten, we love you
and miss you.  Forever your family

The Power of the Dog

THERE is sorrow enough in the natural way
From men and women to fill our day;
And when we are certain of sorrow in store,
Why do we always arrange for more?
Brothers and Sisters, I bid you beware
Of giving your heart to a dog to tear.

Buy a pup and your money will buy
Love unflinching that cannot lie—
Perfect passion and worship fed
By a kick in the ribs or a pat on the head.
Nevertheless it is hardly fair
To risk your heart for a dog to tear.

When the fourteen years which Nature permits
Are closing in asthma, or tumour, or fits,
And the vet’s unspoken prescription runs
To lethal chambers or loaded guns,
Then you will find—it’s your own affair—
But . . . you’ve given your heart to a dog to tear.

When the body that lived at your single will,
With its whimper of welcome, is stilled (how still!).
When the spirit that answered your every mood
Is gone—wherever it goes—for good,
You will discover how much you care,
And will give your heart to a dog to tear.

We’ve sorrow enough in the natural way,
When it comes to burying Christian clay.
Our loves are not given, but only lent,
At compound interest of cent per cent.
Though it is not always the case, I believe,
That the longer we’ve kept ’em, the more do we grieve.
For, when debts are payable, right or wrong,
A short-time loan is as bad as a long—
So why in—Heaven (before we are there)
Should we give our hearts to a dog to tear?

In Loving Memory of
COOKIE REGINA

July 18, 2004

We don’t understand, when kind people say
God needed an Angel, so he took you away
There are plenty of Angels to go around
Only one “Cookie Regina” could ever be found

You brought us immense joy, every day of your life
Now, the home we share, empty, our hearts cut like a knife

Your toys still in baskets, your blanket on the floor
The sunbeam shines on your favorite spot
But you are there no more.

We danced together, oh, so many times
We loved singing to you, your own nursery rhymes.

To touch your velvet belly, kiss your eyes so brown
Just feel you, smell you and dance you around.

Last night I dreamt you were high above the clouds
Skipping and dancing and singing out loud
I begged you to come to me, just one more time
So I could see you “baby of mine”

You said “No mommy, no- I’m having so much fun
I’m dancing and playing and now able to run

Your death was a shock, you were stolen away
So quickly, so sadly – All we could do was pray.

We wanted to say good-bye while holding you in our arms
We didn’t have the chance – In a moment you were gone!

We loved you and love you more and more each day
We promise, Cookie Regina, in heaven again, we will play

Love Daddy, Mommy, “Moo” and “Piggy”
