TREASURED
FRIENDS
I lost
a treasured friend today
The
little dog & cat, who used to lay
Her
gentle head upon my knee
And
share her silent thoughts with me...
She'll
come no longer to my call
Retrieve
no more her favorite ball
A voice
far greater than my own
Has
called her to His golden throne.
.....
Although
my eyes are filled with tears,
I thank
Him for the happy years
He let
her spend down here with me
And
for her love and loyalty.
When
it is time for me to go
And
join her there, this much I know...
I shall
not fear the transient dark
For
she will greet me with her purr or bark.

"WHISKEY"
You've
seen me through so much
And
you've touched so many hearts along the way.
Life
will never be the same without you,
~until
we meet again one day,

love,
Nancy

Loving Memory of
"SHASTA
BEAR"
August
4, 2001
|
On
March 3, 1990, I went to the local pound to just look for a puppy and I
found Shasta Bear. She was a black Lab/Irish Setter cross that had been
dumped down some dead end lane. She had been there for a week. That day
was to be her last. It was fate that brought us together. Shasta grew up
to be one of the greatest family and bird dog. She would find the birds
no matter where we went. She loved to go hunting and especially loved to
swim. You could never keep her out of the water. Shasta was my first child.
A few years later, I had my two daughters that Shasta took on as her own.
She always made sure they were okay. She was never too far from them. Shasta
was with me for eleven (11) wonderful years. She was still young at heart,
but her body just grew old. We had to let her go home on August 4, 2001.
I love her and miss her very much. She will always be in my heart and soul.

RIBBON
A cooler
goat you'll never meet
He'd
butt and play and then be sweet
He'd
climb through fences and sit on laps
His
favorite thing was his afternoon nap.
..
His
friends were horses, big and small.
He played
with Jo and Tab - but most of all
His
job in life was as a companion
To Chinook
Pass, the Thoroughbred Champion.
..
At different
barns, in pastures or stalls
Chinook
Pass and Ribbon had it all.
Vitamins,
blankets and lots of grain
Shelter,
bedding protection from rain.
..
They
communicated through nickers and bleets,
And
sometimes understood when human would speak.
Ribbon
would butt and Chinook would nip back,
They
bossed around the dog and the cats.
...
Visitors
would come from here and there
To see
this funny and goofy pair.
To witness
this friendship of goat and horse
And
to recognize the powerful force....
..
That
at times allowed them to act as one
Whether
grazing, sleeping of having fun.
When
one was gone, the other fussed,
They
shared love, respect, loyalty and trust.
..
They
were kind and concerned for each other
Different
species, but more like brothers.
Let
all of us wish and hope
That
we could be more like this horse and goat.

Loving Memory of
"GINGER"
June 14, 1994

Lovingly
missed by
Virginia & Erich
Alexandria, VA
|
Ginger was diagnosed with a rapidly growing brain tumor August 2001, and
bravely faced her sudden decline. She had surgery the day after our
first wedding anniversary, however, they were not able to remove the tumor.
We brought her home to spend one last night with us before euthanizing
her, and we know she is the best dog in heaven.
..
We are so grateful to Dr. Kristin Terrio and the Alexandria Animal Hospital
for the constant and loving care during her life. The expertise of
the SouthPaws Veterinary Center gave us comfort that everything possible
was attempted while respecting her quality of life during her final days.
...
Ginger was the puppy who grew up to be human, and so many people will miss
her. Anyone who was fortunate enough to meet her will fondly remember
her sweet disposition, enthusiasm, and energetic wagging tail! She
had a comforting and playful soul and was an endless joy to be with.
In our hearts, she will always be our “little one” even though she weighed
65 pounds. A heartfelt thank you to our family and friends for the
support you have shown us during this difficult time.
