Lovingly missed by

I ONLY WANTED YOU
A million times I needed you,
a million times I cried.
If love alone could have saved you
you never would have died.
In life I loved you dearly,
In death I love you still.
In my heart you hold a place
no one could ever fill.
If tears could build a stairway
and heartache make a lane,
I'd walk the path to heaven
and bring you back again.
Our family chain is broken,
and nothing seems the same.
But as God calls us one by one,
the chain will link again .

OUR LIFETIME WISH
(for our Matty)

If we could have a lifetime wish,
A dream that would come true.
We'd pray to God with all our hearts,
For yesterday and you.
A thousand words can't bring you back,
We know because we've tried.
And neither will a million tears,
We know because we've cried.
You left behind our broken hearts
and happy memories too.
But we never wanted memories
we only wanted you.

"THE RAINBOW BRIDGE
There is a bridge connecting heaven and earth. It is called the Rainbow Bridge because of its many colors. Just this side of the Rainbow Bridge, there is a land of meadows, hills and valleys with lush green grass. When a beloved pet dies, the pet goes to this place. There is always food and  water, and warm spring weather. Those old and frail animals are young again. Those who have been maimed are made whole again. They play all day with each other. But there is only one thing missing. They are not with their special person who loved them on earth. So, each day, they run and play until the day comes when one suddenly stops playing and looks  up. The nose twitches, the ears are up, the eyes are staring and then one suddenly runs from the group. You have been seen, and when you and your special friend meet, you take him or her in your arms and embrace. Your face is kissed again and again. You look once more into the eyes of your trusting pet. Then you cross the Rainbow Bridge together again to never be separated. ~author ~unknown author

" KATIE "

Missed  & Always in our hearts,
Steve & Lee Down, Brogue, PA

My Katie
Katie was born in the spring of 1991 to a small barn cat we named Missy in a little wooden shed on our property.  She was one of 4 babies.  One day, when they were about 4 weeks old, we found 2 of the babies dead - apparently at the hands of a fox.  So, we quickly gather up Katie and her brother, Sam, and brought them into the house.  Eventually, our little menagerie of cats grew to 14.  As the years past, Katie became my constant companion.  Everywhere I went, Katie was with me.  She had her special place on our bed, snuggled close to me.  Our cat population has dwindled to 4 when we lost Katie on June 29th of this year - which was quite sudden and very unexpected.  Sometimes, I am thinking about her and all of a sudden, I catch a glimpse of movement to my side - I look but nothing is there - I would like to think it is Katie and she is still with me!  I miss her so!
